Patients at St. Luke’s Wood River have access to a special television channel. The C.A.R.E. (Continuous Ambient Relaxation Environment) is designed to comfort patients, families and staff in healthcare settings over a full 24-hour cycle. Based on research indicating that viewing scenes of nature and listening to music can promote relaxation and provide stress relief, C.A.R.E. programming brings a healing environment immediately to the patient’s bedside.

St. Luke’s Integrative Therapies department has incorporated the C.A.R.E. Channel into the current channel line-up and is provided as part of St. Luke’s commitment to creating healing environments for patients, families, and staff. Generous community support also recently made possible new televisions in each Emergency Department patient room. The additional TV’s will expand the availability of the C.A.R.E. channel to the ER, helping to calm and sooth more patients and their families.

We are hoping to find investors who are willing to donate the funds necessary to keep the C.A.R.E. Channel available to all St. Luke’s patients.
