Summary

Description

We are proposing the purchase of twenty iPads that can be loaned out to patients as they wait in the hospital waiting rooms and/or patient rooms. Instead of magazines and brochures, patients can enjoy the freedom of selecting their own form of entertainment – movies, games, music, e-mail or the internet.

In addition, we hope to create a video that patients can view on the iPad while they wait. This video will be created by students and will be made up of well-wishes to the patient.

This project has an investment and a service component. We are looking for young investors to contribute ,000 towards the total cost of the project – primarily the cost of the iPads. Additionally, we are looking for students who are willing to take the lead in creating the virtual get well card. The students will create the concept for the video and lead the production of the video, with support and resources from the project sponsor.

A number of clinics and hospital waiting rooms across the country have been implementing the use loaner iPads for patients. This project would take this idea one step further by adding a virtual message from young people in the community – hopefully inspiring and furthering the power of generosity.
