Make-a-Splash is a national water safety initiative created by the USA Swimming Foundation in an effort to provide access to swim lessons, at no cost, for children across the country. It is a proactive approach to teaching basic swimming and safety skills to our youth and is currently reaching approximately three hundred 2nd graders in the Wood River Valley each school year. As Idaho has the second highest unintentional drowning rate in the nation, the Wood River Community YMCA has made it a priority to reverse this statistic at no cost to the participant.
