Summary

Turning back the clock on Rock Creek

Description

Trout Unlimited, the Nature Conservancy, and the Wood River Land Trust are working on restoring Rock Creek on Rock Creek Ranch

The historic Rock Creek Ranch (~ 10,000 acres) recently changed ownership, and will no longer be intensely grazed by cattle and sheep. Over the years, Rock Creek has been impacted by grazing and neglect. TU and project partners will be working on restoring Rock Creek and assuring that connection to the lower Big Wood River exists. Project activities will include stream channel reconstruction, in-stream and riparian habitat enhancement, riparian and upland planting of native vegetation, and the removal of four fish passage barriers.
