Join our team and see what it’s like to produce a local non-profit’s signature event. We will schedule monthly meetings to share information about the process, including working with sponsors, partners, drivers, volunteers and more! We are also trying to build our Social Media presence and need help finding top influencers mainly in the auto and racing world. Want to get involved in the Public Relations side? This experience could include some writing and media research as well. We will show you the down and dirty world of what it’s like to produce a massive event and raise money for a local non-profit.
More on the event:
The only event of its kind in North America, the Sun Valley Road Rally returns on July 22-23, 2016 for a weekend of world class car rallying and cruising. Participants travel from all over the world to enjoy this unique experience of driving at top speed on 3.2 miles of public road. Spectators watch the fastest cars in the world soar at speeds over 246mph. The weekend kicks off with the fabulous Ketchum Cruise & Car Show, when close to 200 cars take a 5 mile scenic route around Sun Valley to end up at the Ketchum Town Square. Porsches, Ferraris, Bugattis, Bentleys and more. On Saturday, qualified drivers get ready for an experience of a lifetime as they push their cars to the limit on a stretch of open road surrounded by the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains. The best part? There’s no speed limit! Spectators share the rush from the sidelines where they watch the cars flying by as they picnic and enjoy the view.
Now in it’s 8th year, the Rally has grown in scope and popularity. Our partners include the finest auto makers in the world, local media outlets, technology, gear and more. In 2015 we had close to 200 cars in the Ketchum Cruise and over 6,000 people at the Car Show. We host a sold out rally with over 1,000 people in attendance. Last year we had media attend from all over the country and this year will be even bigger. The Sun Valley Road Rally supports The Drug Coalition. A local nonprofit, The Drug Coalition works to raise awareness about drug free and healthy lifestyle choices for youth. The money from the event goes to support programs including:Impact Speaker Series, Substance Curriculum in Schools, iDFY, B.R.A.V.E., and The Parent Project. By raising awareness surrounding the health issue of youth substance abuse, we can improve the overall health and safety of our community.
