Help us move our raspberry patch across the Garden grounds! Students will help prepare the raspberry bed, construct trellising, and plant raspberry canes.

This year, the Sawtooth Botanical Garden will be expanding its parking lot. This means that the raspberry patch that was established near the parking lot will have to be taken out. We loved this berry patch and we would love to have another one in a different location. It would be wonderful to have extra help planting a brand new raspberry patch for all our visitors to enjoy!

Students will be involved in helping prepare the soil in the bed that will be planted. This means adding natural components to the soil that will make it healthy for raspberries. Next, students will help build a trellis system. A trellis system is a structure that will assist the raspberries to grow upright instead of flopping over. Finally, students will strategically plant individual raspberry canes in rows.

We would also love to have a plaque made that would educate the public about the raspberry patch and advertise that its berries are available for anyone to eat!
