The Hunger Coalition believes all Blaine County students should have enough to eat. Daily Bites makes yummy snacks available to all students who experience a rumble in their belly because they are hungry or forgot their snack at home. Daily Bites will host a free snack pantry at each school who wishes to participate!

Daily Bites is a new program being launched in public schools throughout Blaine County. This program is in response to feedback from teachers, parents and students about the challenges children in need continue to face in our community. This program will supply a healthy snack and supplemental food pantry in each participating school in the district. Teachers and any other school faculty will be able to take food from the pantry at any time and hand it out to children who are in need of extra food during snack time or after school. Students can ask any adult for food from the snack pantry with no questions asked.

For children, keeping energy levels up and minds focused is key to their success in school and later in life. Unfortunately, not all kids have access to the nutrition they need to thrive. While free and reduced cost meal programs at school are an enormous help, many parents cannot afford to keep up with the needs of their growing children. That leaves lots of kids battling daily hunger, unable to concentrate in class and lacking the energy to participate. In our quest to help build the healthiest community possible, The Hunger Coalition, in partnership with local schools, has established a critical program to bridge the gap.
